Acidophilous oak woods, moors and heaths with their many habitats provide a refuge for quite a number of plants and animals, not all of which have yet been studied. Even in this project, we cannot possibly study them all.
We rather focus upon such species that, given their particularity and rareness, are part of Natura2000. Every habitat features some species that represent it in a special way and that indicate its condition. These are the project’s keystone species, which also form the benchmark for the nature conservation measures’ success.
