On january 3rd 2013, the district forestry office (Regionalforstamt Niederrhein) started the first development measures in the western part of Diersfordt Forest.
At several places, a total of about 17 hectares of non-indigenous stocks of spruce and Douglas fir become harvested. Afterwards, the area will be reforested with Common oak. The young plants will be delivered by local tree nurseries. Within the game enclosure, the young oaks will be protected from damage caused by browsing animals by appropriate means.
Thus, an important part of the project has reached execution.
